Commissions are currently closed. They will reopen in June 2018.
It is an honor to help others imagine and bring their visions to life. I truly love the collaborative process and meeting new people, so one or two times a year, Star and Tower Studios is open for commissions. During commission seasons, I accept requests to create custom pieces for clients or to replicate past works.
Some guidelines for commissioning a piece are provided below. Please use the form at the bottom of this page to submit your commission request, and if you have any other questions, email me at email@example.com. I look forward to working with you!
Commission Info & Guidelines:
Turnaround Time: The turnaround time for commissions varies depending on my current workload and the complexity of your request. It can range from as little as one week, up to three months.
Subject Matter: I believe that we become better artists and humans by pushing ourselves, but if your concept does not translate well via my artistic style or interpretation, I reserve the right to deny your commission request.
I will not recreate the designs of other artists without their permission. That's gross. Please do not ask.
Sizing: I am happy to create pieces in a range of sizes. We will work together to decide what size best suits your concept or idea. Generally, larger or more detailed pieces require more stitching time.
Mounting & Display: Commissions can be mounted flat or in hoops. All pieces will be backed with felt and come ready to hang unless you request otherwise. Some pieces are better suited to hoops, others to conventional frames. This is something we will discuss as we conceptualize your piece. How the piece is mounted will not affect the final price for your commission. I just want the piece to look great and make you happy!
Please note that for recreations of past works, I reserve the right to make the final decision about how the piece is mounted since I create all of my art with the intention to display it in a certain way.
Prices: Commission costs will vary depending on the size and complexity of the piece. Once your request is accepted and the details of your commission have been discussed, I will make a custom listing for your commission. After payment is received, I will start working on your piece.
Payment Plans: I want everyone in the world to live a life filled to the brim with beautiful things that make their hearts sing, so payment plans are accepted for projects costing more than $200 USD. Details are agreed upon on a case by case basis, and all payment plans must be arranged in advance.
For custom designs, I require half the fee before any design work is begun. After the design is approved and the commission contract is signed, the second half of the fee is due. Once all payment is received, I will begin stitching your piece.
Refunds, Returns, & Failed Payments: Refunds are only considered when stitching on your piece has not begun. However, 50% of the project price will be kept as a non-refundable deposit.
Fabric: I primarily work on 100% linen in a variety of colors. If you are interested in a different type of fabric, mention it in your commission form.
Replications: There may be slight variations in commissions of past works as I am 100% human and 0% robot. However, your piece will be just as lovely, I promise!
